Shadow Work Achievement: 4 Notre-Dame Trials and the Altar Boss
What unlocks Shadow Work?
To earn “Shadow Work,” complete all four virtue trials in Notre-Dame’s Gallery of the Four Virtues. When every window is lit, interact with the altar beneath the central window and defeat the shadow boss labelled “???”. The achievement guides identify that boss as the Self.
How do I reach the fight?
Complete the Courage, Temperance, Justice, and Prudence trials in the Gallery. Check that all four stained-glass windows are lit, go to the altar below the large central window, and use the interact prompt to start the fight. Defeat Rose’s dark double to meet the stated condition.
How do I confirm it unlocked?
After the fight, check Steam’s achievement list for “Shadow Work.” Steam hides the achievement condition until it unlocks, so use the achievement name as the confirmation signal. If it is still locked, verify that all four virtue windows were lit and that you defeated the shadow boss before retrying the encounter.
