What order fits Belmont’s Curse?

For the direct story connection, play Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, then Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. KONAMI places the new story in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III, and identifies Rose as Trevor Belmont’s daughter. If you want the surrounding classic-timeline context, a practical story-first run is Castlevania III (1476) → Curse of Darkness (1479) → Belmont’s Curse (1499) → The Adventure (1576) → Belmont’s Revenge (1591). This inserts the new game by its official setting into the older chronology; it is a recommendation for this timeline, not a KONAMI-published complete order.

Do I need to play the earlier game first?
